Bexar County Office of Emergency Management Needs Volunteers to Work With Large Animal Evacuees at Freeman Coliseum

The Bexar County Office of Emergency Management needs volunteers who have experience working with large animals in anticipation of the possibility that several Hurricane Rita evacuees from Corpus Christi and surrounding areas may be bringing their livestock to the San Antonio Area. If this is the case, Freeman Coliseum will be used as a shelter for large animals.

Volunteers will be needed to help feed and care for these animals. Feed, cleaning supplies, and medications will also be needed.

If you can volunteer to help, please do. Also, please pass this information along to anyone else you think might be able to help

Volunteers or anyone with inquiries should directly contact slampright@co.bexar.tx.us or call the Bexar County Office of Emergency Management at (210) 335-0300.
