Former SHRP Leading Jockey Ricky Frazier Moves West To Pursue Movie Projects

Jockey Ricky Frazier, a former leading rider at Sam Houston Race Park who currently ranks eighth in the jockey standings at the current Retama Park Thoroughbred meet, has decided to move his tack to California in order to pursue movie projects. Frazier performed in the movie Seabiscuit as Tobey Maguire’s stunt double playing Seabiscuit’s regular rider “Red” Pollard.

According to published reports, Frazier plans to ride at Fairplex Park and pursue more movie projects.

At the current Retama meet that began on August 1, Frazier has won 14 of 87 starts, and his mounts have earned $151,785. In 24 years of riding, Frazier has won 2,473 races.
