Lone Star Park to Race 70 Days in 2020

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Tuesday, February 4, 2020) - Lone Star Park was granted 70 live racing dates during 2020 by the Texas Racing Commission, including a 44-date Thoroughbred racing season that will be held from April 16 through July 19 and a 26-night Fall Meeting of Champions, featuring American Quarter Horses, that will run from September 11 through November 28, 2020.

The 44 days granted for live Thoroughbred racing matches the number of days raced in 2019, and the 26 days for live Quarter Horse racing increases from the 16-day meeting held in 2019.

The Thoroughbred Racing Season schedule will be similar to that in 2019, with live racing on certain Thursday evenings and certain Friday evenings, and every Saturday and Sunday throughout. In addition, there will be live racing on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25.

Here are the Thoroughbred Racing Season scheduled race dates (shaded):

 

Gate and post times are: Thursdays & Fridays, gates open at 5:00 p.m., first race 6:35 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day, gates open at 1:00 p.m., first race 2:35 p.m. Triple Crown days (May 2 & 16, and June 6) gates open 10:30 a.m., first race 1:35 p.m. July 4, gates open at 3:00 p.m., first race 5:00 p.m.

Tickets are set to go on sale February 18.
