Lone Star Park Adds New Pick 5 Wager with 12% Takeout to 2008 Wagering Menu

On April 7, Lone Star Park announced the creation of a new Pick 5 Wager with a 12-percent takeout, a $2 minimum bet, as part of the wagering menu for its 2008 Thoroughbred racing season. The new Pick 5 wager, which will be offered on the last five races each day, will have a carryover.

"We think that Lone Star Park's new Pick 5 wager is an exciting bet that will return more money to our loyal customers," said Lone Star Park President and General Manager Drew Shubeck. "Our players have asked us for a lower takeout wager, and we have responded to their requests."

Lone Star's wagering format for 2008 will include:

Win, Place, Show
Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta

Daily Double
Pick 3

Pick 4
Pick 5

All wagers have a $2 minimum, with the exceptions of the 10-cent Superfecta and 50-cent Pick 4, and a $1 minimum for all Exacta, Trifecta, Daily Double and Pick 3 and Pick 5 box and wheel bets.

Win, Place, Show, and Exacta wagers will be available on all races at Lone Star Park in 2008. There will be Trifectas on races with at least five betting interests, Superfectas on races with at least six betting interests, rolling Pick 3s, two Daily Doubles (first two and last two races), and two Pick 4s (Races 2-5 and the final four races) every day at Lone Star.

Lone Star Park's Thoroughbred Season begins on Thursday, April 10, with racing on Thursday and Friday nights starting at 6:35 p.m. CT, and Saturday and Sunday at 1:35 p.m. CT. The Lone Star Million program on Memorial Day will start at 1:35 p.m. CT, with special twilight programs with post-race holiday fireworks on Thursday, July 3 and Friday, July 4 (Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration) will commence at 5 p.m. CT.
