Preakness Stakes Day Attendance of 12,715 Highest in Eight Years at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Saturday, May 19, 2012) - Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie hosted a crowd of 12,715 enthusiastic racing fans today, to watch and wager on the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes. That is the highest attendance here for Preakness day in eight years since 2004.

Those 12,715 fans on hand at Lone Star were treated to one of the most exciting finishes as they watched I'll Have Another close relentlessly to get up in the final strides and win by a neck over again favorite, Bodemeister. His rider Mario Gutierrez, now has two jewels from his first two Triple Crown riding assignments. After his win today, I'll Have Another, is now a perfect four-for-four this year. $2 investments returned $8.40, $3.80 and $2.80.

Only 11 horses have won the elusive Triple Crown. Affirmed who won in 1978 still remains the last horse to accomplish the feat. Several horses have come close in recent years, winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness only to fail in the Belmont Stakes. But there is hope anew in I'll Have Another. Who knows, this just might be the year for history to be made.

Be sure to mark your calendar, as the next stop for I'll Have Another on his quest for the Triple Crown, is the Belmont Stakes, to be simulcast here on Saturday, June 9, 2012. For reservations please call 972-263-RACE today. You won't want to miss it!
