| Lone Star Park to Streamline Admissions
Process in 2009, Free General Parking to Offset Increase in Admission Fee In an effort to streamline the admission process into the track,
Lone Star Park announced on December 18 that it will eliminate its current
$2 general parking fee while increasing the general admission price by
the same amount during live racing in 2009. During the off-season, when there is simulcasting only, the current $1
parking fee will be eliminated and admission will be increased by $1.
The track also announced that the general admission price for children,
ages 4–12, will remain at $3 at all times. Children three and under
are admitted free. During live racing, general parking will be free, while general admission
into the grandstand for adults will be $5. At the Post Time Pavilion,
general parking will be free year-round with admission priced at $3 on
simulcast-only days and $4 when there is live racing. In addition, Lone Star Park announced that its Star Player Rewards cardholders
will continue to receive membership discounts on admissions that effectively
maintain the total cost of parking and admission at its current level,
$3 during live racing and $2 for simulcast only. “With the free general parking, we are simplifying the entry and
admission process for our customers,” said Lone Star Park President
and General Manager Drew Shubeck in making the announcement. “We
want to continue to reward our loyal Star Player Rewards members with
their discounts while encouraging new members to enroll, not only to receive
the admission discount but the other excellent benefits of the program.
Making the announcement now gives our fans time to sign up before the
price increase takes effect. “By keeping the $3 admission price for children, Lone Star Park
remains a great family, entertainment value,” added Shubeck. “A
family of four can enjoy an afternoon or evening at the racetrack with
free parking and an admission price of only $16.” The Star Player Rewards is a player loyalty program that provides members
with rewards, gifts, discounts and special offers based upon points earned
through wagering, and purchases of food and beverage or at the track’s
gift shops. Enrollment is free and members receive discounted general
admission every day at Lone Star Park and the Post Time Pavilion whether
there is live racing or it’s a simulcast race day. For more information
on how to enroll, visit the track’s Web site at www.lonestarpark.com.
