Sam Houston Race Park to Offer Free Admission Beginning May 20

(Houston, Texas - Thursday, May 10, 2012) - Sam Houston Race Park will offer free admission following the conclusion of the 2012 Quarter Horse meet on May 19. The Park's offer will start on Sunday, May 20 and will last the entire summer through Labor Day. Simulcast racing will continue seven days a week with the third leg of racing's Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes set for Saturday, June 9. Premier race meets including Monmouth Park, Saratoga and Del Mar will showcase top Thoroughbreds this summer and Quarter Horse fans will be able to watch and wager on "America's fastest athletes" at Ruidoso Downs, beginning May 25.

"We are excited to offer free admission all summer long," said Andrea Young, President of Sam Houston Race Park. "We think this change will help us showcase the quality racing we feature during the summer months and help us capitalize on the local business community that now surrounds us. As part of this program, we will also offer weekly food and drink specials making this an attractive place out for lunch or with a group of friends in the evening."
