The Texas Arabian Racing Awards were announced Saturday, February 13, at the Awards Presentation & Complimentary Luncheon. Sam Vasquez and his horses swept nearly every category. Vasquez was also named Texas Champion Owner and Breeder for 2009.Elizabeth Brand was awarded as Texas Champion Trainer for 2009.

Vasquez won the Champion Owner award last year in Texas for 2008, and later was named Darley Champion Owner (over all USA) for 2008. Looks like he is well positioned to take another Darley this March!

Elizabeth Brand also received the award for Darley Champion Trainer in '08 after being named Texas Champion Trainer '08. Who will be the 2009 USA Champions announced in March at the Darley Awards?
