Attention Horsemen: You Must Have Original Coggins Test Results with Every Horse You Transport

(Austin, Texas - Tuesday, July 7, 2015) - Texas state law requires that the original Coggins test results must be with every horse that is being transported. You will not be allowed to enter the grounds of a Texas racetrack without the original Coggins test results for each horse. When you leave a horse's papers in a racetrack's racing office, please attach only a copy of the Coggins test result instead of the original.

At any time, the Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) can send investigators to any racetrack to identify and inspect each horse entering the gate. If you do not have the originals for each horse you are transporting, you will be denied entry.

Please comply with the State law and keep the original Coggins test results with each horse you transport.
