On February 21, the Texas Racing Commission (RCI) unanimously voted to rejoin the Association of Racing Commissioners International (RCI), the trade association of racing regulators. RCI President Ed Martin detailed his group's initiatives before the TRC prior to the vote.

RCI lost several member jurisdictions a few years ago, including the TRC, amid complaints that it was not properly providing services to its members. The organization now represents virtually all racing regulators in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
