Field of 10 Set for Dash For Cash Futurity October 10, Jess Toast Winner Turns in Fastest Trial at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Saturday, September 27, 2014) - Jess Toast Winner hooked up in a speed duel with Rattle N Battle in tonight's 10th Dash for Cash Futurity trial. At the wire, by a mere nose, Jess Toast Winner edged Rattle N Battle for the top spot. Final time for the 400 yard contest was :19.546 over a fast track. Both will advance, along with eight others that qualified tonight to the Grade 1, $427,900 Dash for Cash Futurity on Saturday, October 11 here a Lone Star Park.

All horses that ran in the trials tonight but did not qualify for the final remain eligible for the Dash for Cash Juvenile Stakes, also on October 11. Preference will be given to horses based on their times in the trials.

On The Track: More live racing action Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 2-4. Three stakes races are featured on Saturday, October 4 headlined by the 18th running of the Grade 1, $75,000-guaranteed Refrigerator Handicap for three-year-olds & up at 440 yards. The other stakes on Saturday are the 5th running of the $30,000-added Merial Distaff Challenge for fillies & mares, three-year-olds & up, at 400 yards and the 5th running of the $30,000-added Red Cell Distance Challenge for three-year-olds & up, at 870 yards. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First race post time is 6:35 p.m.

Additional Notes: Standings through Saturday, September 27 ... jockey Luis Vivanco is the leader with eight wins over Santos Carrizales, who has six. There is a five-way tie at the top of the trainers' standings between Rick Robinson, Toby Keeton, Jesse Yoakum, Wendy Garcia and John Buchanan. Owner Bobby Cox took over the lead in the owner standings tonight. He has three wins.
