Zoomin Efortlessly Gets First Graded Stakes Win Tonight, Taking the Grade 1 Refrigerator Handicap at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Saturday, October 3, 2015) - With jockey Santos Carrizales in the irons, Zoomin Effortlessly, a four-year-old gelded son of Zoomin for Bux, was quick out of the gate, taking the lead and holding on for the win by a half-length margin over Moonin the Eagle in second. It was another 1 ¾ lengths back to Mr Jo Eagle in third, who was no match for the top two. Final time for the 440 yard Grade 1 event was :21.312 over a fast track. Speed Index earned was 97.

This was the fifth straight win for Zoomin Effortlessly, his fourth career stakes victory and his first graded stakes win. The winner's share of the purse upped his career earnings to $123,401. It was his 11th win from 13 career starts.

Mutuels on the winner returned $12.40, $7.60 and $5.20. Mooning the Eagle paid $5.60 and $4.20, with Mr Jo Eagle returning $4.80 for show. Jody Pops Zoomer, Charvet, Dashin Brown Streak, Rockin Disco, Sleepers Best Corona and Jessies First Down completed the order of finish. Jrc Callas First was scratched from the race.

Jockey Ricky Ramirez Sweeps Both Undercard Challenges Stakes

Just like Santos Carrizales did last year, Ricky Ramirez swept both of the Challenge Stakes tonight, the Zoetis Distance Challenge and the Merial Distaff Challenge.

First up was the Zoetis (Race 4) at 870 yards, where Ricky Ramirez guided Jess Twice Cash to victory, clocking the distance :45.933 seconds. The final time was good for a speed index of 92.

Ramirez returned in the Merial Distaff Challenge (Race 6) aboard Visual Magic for an impressive win in the 400 yard contest. Final time was :19.722 seconds, with a speed index of 93 awarded for the effort.
