Fastest Qualifier Jess Toast Winner Seeks Top Prize in Grade 1, $385,110 Dash For Cash Futurity Saturday at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Thursday, October 9, 2014) - Saturday,
October 11 is Dash for Cash night at Lone Star Park. Featured is the Grade 1, $385,110 Dash for Cash Futurity at 400 yards, the Grade 2, $174,400 Dash for Cash Derby at 440 yards, and the $42,790 Dash for Cash Juvenile Stakes at 400 yards. Ten races are carded on the program. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First race port time is 6:35 p.m.

The fastest qualifier two weeks ago, Jess Toast Winner, happens to be on a three race win streak as well going in to Saturday's Futurity. The two-year-old gelding by Toast to Dash out of Runaway Jess, by Feature Mr Jess ran the 400 yards in :15.546 in the 10th trial race Saturday, September 27 earning solidifying his spot in the final.

Jess Toast Winner has four wins from five career starts and earnings of $56,970. His only career loss was a third place finish in the Old South Futurity at Delta Downs on May 17.

Owned by Maria Guadalupe Araiza and trained by Rodolfo Sanchez, Jess Toast Winner is the slight morning line favorite at 5-2 over second fastest qualifier Rattle N Battle at 3-1.

Rattle N Battle for those who saw the trial races, also qualified from the 10th trial, missing the win by a mere nose after an intense duel with Jess Toast Winner. Owned by Sunset Well Service Inc. and trained by Brandon Muniz the colt by Apolitical Jess out of Tinys Corona Queen, by Corona Cartel has career stats of 7-1-2-1 for earnings of $20,954.

Third fastest qualifier Great Grace, trained by Trey Wood and owned by George Mitchell, could be tough in Saturday's final. The filly by Apolitical Jess out of Reloaded and Ready, by Shazoom has won three of four lifetime starts earning $102,202. Her one defeat was a third place finish in the Grade 3 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Futurity last April.

The Grade 1 Dash for Cash Futurity is the scheduled ninth race on the card. Post time is 10:03 p.m.

Her O Don Won the One to Beat in Saturday's Grade 2, $174,400 Dash For Cash Derby

Richard R. Scott's Her O Don Won, by Valiant Hero out of Miss Shivers, by Feature Mr Jess is the 2-1 morning line favorite in the Dash for Cash Derby. Trained by Russell Harris, the graded stakes placed gelding has won over $292,000 from lifetime stats of 12-5-3-2, and he seems to love this track. His record at Lone Star Park is 3-2-1-0. He was the fastest qualifier last year for the Dash for Cash Futurity, defeating the eventual winner (Dynastys First Call) in their trial, but missed by a neck in the Futurity final.

The Grade 2, Dash for Cash Derby is the scheduled eighth race, with an approximate post time of 9:37 p.m.

Flashy First Cartel the 9-5 Favorite in $42,790 Dash For Cash Juvenile Stakes

The Dash for Cash Juvenile Stakes field is made up of those that just missed earning a spot in the Futurity. They are the 11th through 20th fastest times out of the trials two weeks ago.

Crowson Racing's Flashy First Cartel, trained by Brandon Muniz, has been made the 9-5 morning line favorite by Lone Star Park track handicapper Rick Lee. The two-year-old filly by First Moonflash out of Cartel Dash, by Corona Cartel has one win, one second and one third from four lifetime starts earning a total of $39,950.
