12 Trials Saturday Will Determine Final Field for $1 Million Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Thursday, October 23, 2014) - Saturday night is going to be a heart pounding, earth shaking, and as fast as they can go night at Lone Star Park as 115 two-year-old American Quarter Horses vie for one of only 10 spots available to compete for a share of the $1 Million prize in the Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity, the richest race in the Lone Star State.

A total of 12 trial races at 400 yards are scheduled, so come out and cheer on your favorite! Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First race post time is 6:35 p.m. (CDT). Of the 115 entered, only the 10 fastest youngsters will gain eligibility to the Futurity final. The final will be held here on closing night of the 2014 Fall Meeting of Champions Season, Saturday, November 15, 2014.

A particular entry of note is this year's Grade 1 Dash for Cash Futurity winner, Rattle N Battle. A colt by Apolitical Jess out of Tinys Corona Queen, by Corona Cartel, he has drawn into the 10th race. Rattle N Battle has won $175,003 from a career record of 8-2-2-1. He is owned by Sunset Well Service Inc. and trained by Brandon Muniz. Jockey Joe Badilla, Jr. will be aboard.

Also drawing into the 10th race is Lovethewayyoulie. The Texas-bred daughter of Tempting Dash out of Witchs Streak, by Streakin Sixes, placed in the Sam Houston Juvenile Stakes April 19 at Sam Houston Race Park. On May 31 at Remington Park she became a Grade 1 winner by taking the Heritage Place Futurity. Her most recent was a fourth place finish by less than a half-length in the Grade 3 Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge on August 2. From a career record of 6-2-2-1, the filly has amassed a bankroll of $456,322.

Lovethewayyoulie is trained by Toby Keeton for owner Copper Spring Ranch LLC. Jockey Cody Jensen will ride.

In the second race of the night, Cosmo Traffic deserves a look. The daughter of Cosmograph out of Bac Traffic, by Splash Bac, has two wins and one second from four career attempts earning $98,697. In her most recent she placed in the Grade 2 Firecraker at Delta Downs on July 4. Last April 19 she finished fourth by less than a length in the Grade 2 Sam Houston Futurity behind Kiss My Hocks, who is ranked third nationally in earnings this year. She is owned by Omar Mireles and trained by Angel Sanchez. Raul Ramirez, Jr. has the riding assignment.

Stone Cold Diamond in race three, won the By By JJ Stakes at Ruidoso last July by a length and a half, and September 1 was third in the All American Juvenile Stakes, also at Ruidoso. His earnings are $25,270 from a record of 5-2-0-2. Michael Joiner conditions the gelding by First Moonflash out of Diamonds N Rainbows, by Rabbits Rainbow for partner's Marc E. Jungers & J. Santos Espinoza. He will be ridden by Joe Badilla, Jr.

Stolen Wagon, a colt by Pyc Paint Your Wagon out of Xo Kate, by Stoli, has drawn into the sixth race. Owned and trained by Isidro Flores, he has earned $22,428 from 6-2-2-0. He placed in both the Heritage Place Juvenile Invitational at Remington Park last May and in the Grade 2 TQHA Sires Cup Futurity at Retama Park in June. Jockey Ricky Ramirez has the mount.

Mister Chuck Wagon in race five is a half to Houdini, who finished third in the All-American Derby.

Apolitical Man in race four is a full brother to Grade 1 Dash for Cash Futurity winner Rattle N Battle.
