Divisional TM Fred Texas Arabian Stakes Featured on Nine-Race Program at Lone Star Park on Friday Night

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Wednesday, October 24, 2012) - The coupled, Sam A. Vasquez-owned Lacy Vaz and By Golly Its Hot, trained by Juan Antonio Ascencio, form a formidable wagering entry in the first running of the $7,500 estimated, TM Fred Texas Arabian Stakes, colts & geldings division, to be run at six furlongs Friday night at Lone Star Park.

Lacy Vaz, a three-year-old gelding by Kador De Blaziet, has won three of five starts in his young career with earnings of $13,571, while the four-year-old By Golly Its Hot has a bit more seasoned career with three wins, four seconds and one third from 19 lifetime starts. From those efforts, the colt by Burning Sand has earned $17,900 from those efforts.

The field from the rail out, with jockey and morning line odds listed in parenthesis, consists of: Lacy Vaz (Luis L. Vivanco, 6-5), By Golly Its Hot (Ricardo Aguirre, 6-5), Ibn Moulin Rouge (Amanda L. Crandall, 30-1), Zells Bells (Domingo Chacaltana, 8-1), Onetoughtiger MHF (Juan Antonio Sanchez, 15-1), Mister Edd (Bobby Lee Dow, 20-1), WMA Sandstone (Manuel Lara, 30-1) and Al Waed (Cathleen J. Garner, 8-5).

Scheduled as race four on the nine-race program, the TM Fred Texas Arabian Stakes (Colts & Geldings Division) has an approximate post time of 7:47 p.m. (CDT).

Several Possibilities in Fillies and Mares Division

The Jane R. Teutsch owned Efondue, trained by Elizabeth Brand, broke her maiden here on October 5. The win put her career record at 6-1-1-4 with earnings of $7,426. Jockey Cathleen Garner, who piloted her to that earlier win, again has the mount.

Stakes winner last year at Lone Star Park, TM Maddamee, owned and trained by Ken Danyluk is back to try for another. The four-year-old filly by Burning Sand, has three wins, one second and two thirds from 11 lifetime starts with earnings of $19,613. Santos Carrizales has the riding assignment.

Morning line favoritism goes to Tikis Shadow, owned by Thomas G. Bradfield and trained by Glen P. Rottweiler, has been assigned 9-5 odds by track handicapper, Rick Lee. The four-year-old filly by Iknow Iknow, won an allowance last out at Sam Houston Race Park last March. Jockey T. L. "Tuffy" Collier will be at the helm.
