Breeders' Cup Events; Dollar Night Highlight Next Two Weekends at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Wendesday, October 27, 2010) - The Breeders’ Cup World Championships, to be run at Churchill Downs on Nov. 5 and 6, and Dollar Night on Friday, Oct. 29 will be the highlight events at Lone Star Park over the next two weekends.

Lone Star Park’s annual Breeders’ Cup Preview Party at the Post Time Pavilion will take place this Saturday morning starting at 9:30 a.m. (Doors open at 9:15 a.m.).  Fans are invited to join host Norm Hitzges of Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket and expert handicappers Gary West of the Star-Telegram and Rick Lee, Lone Star Park’s morning line odds maker, for an in-depth analysis of the upcoming Breeders’ Cup World Championships the following weekend.  A free continental breakfast will be provided and the first 200 in attendance will receive a free copy of the Daily Racing Form’s special pre-entry edition with past performances for all 14 Breeders’ Cup races.

Saturday night will be Dollar Night with $1 general admission, Lone Star Today racing programs, draft beer, hot dogs, popcorn, soft drinks and hot chocolate.  On the track, fans will be treated to a chance to witness history being made when Stolis Winner attempts to become the all-time money leader in American Quarter Horse racing with a win in the B.F. Phillips Jr. Handicap, scheduled as the seventh race on the card at approximately 8:59 p.m.  Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with a first-race post time of 6:35 p.m. on Saturday.

This Sunday night, Oct. 31, the widely acclaimed CBS news magazine show 60 Minutes will feature unbeaten racing superstar Zenyatta.  Next Saturday, Zenyatta, the only female ever to win the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, will attempt to defend her title and finish her career with a perfect 20 wins from 20 starts.

Next weekend, Lone Star Park will be the place to be to watch, wager and win on the 14 Breeders’ Cup World Championship races from Churchill Downs with purses worth $26 million.

6:35 p.m.   Lone Star Park first post time for live racing
