Grade 1 Winners Wild Six, Miss Blue Chew & Swingin Jess Among Saturday's Texas Classic Futurity Trial Entrants at LSP

(Thursday, November 15, 2007) - Grade 1 winners Wild Six, Miss Blue Chew and Swingin Jess and are among 90 two-year-old American Quarter Horses entered in Saturday night's Texas Classic Futurity trials at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The 10 fastest times in the nine trial races - all at 400 yards - will advance to the Grade 1 final worth an estimated $1 million on Saturday, Dec. 1 (closing night of Lone Star's Fall Meeting of Champions).

Wild Six, the flashy filly who won the first six starts of her career before a disappointing sixth place finish behind Heartswideopen in the $2 million All American Futurity, tops all entrants with $526,403 in earnings for Arizonaians John Lee, Herman Mineer and Lincoln Sherwood.

Victories by the sorrel daughter of Tres Seis include the Grade 1, $625,000 Rainbow Futurity and Grade 1, $266,000 West Texas Futurity.

Trainer Wes Giles has given the riding assignment to Freddie Martinez, who was third in the 2007 Ruidoso jockey standings with 41 wins from 202 mounts. Martinez takes over for Tony Guymon, who rode Wild Six in her previous seven starts.

Wild Six is entered in Saturday's third race (7:29 p.m. CT) - the first of the nine trial races - and is the 9-5 morning line favorite in the field of 10.

Lone Star Park's first race Saturday is 6:35 p.m. CT. Grandstand gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

Friday night's program features four trials for the Grade 1, $400,000-estimated Texas Classic Derby. Ruidoso Derby winner Remember Me Rose (13-8-2-1-$649,290, entered in Race 8); 2006 Rainbow Futurity winner Okey Dokey Fantasy (14-9-4-0-$546,989; Race 9); Remington Park Derby champ First Carolina (7-5-0-1-$397,371); All American Derby third Hiclass La Jolla (14-7-3-2-$305,230); and Dash For Cash Futurity winner Jess a Lil Bit More (12-6-1-1-$141,306) head the 34 three-year-olds entered in the 440-yard races.
