Fleet Dif Upsets $50,000 JEH Stallion Stakes at LSP

(May 15, 2004)- In Lone Star Park's featured live race Saturday, Fleeta Dif upset the $50,000 JEH Stallion Station Stakes at odds of 17-1. The 5-year-old mare tracked the early pace and kicked clear in the stretch, holding off a late charge from 48-1 longshot Leona's Lies to win by a neck. It was three lengths back to Sly Kona, who completed the longshot trifecta at 36-1.

Two-time defending JEH Stallion Station winner Coastalota never threatened the leaders and ran a dull seventh.

Rita Helton rode her first local Thoroughbred stakes winner for trainer Tom Warren, who co-owns the homebred with wife Patricia Warren. The $2 trifecta payoff of $27,223.40 was a record for a Lone Star Park stakes race.
