Houston, Texas (Tuesday, February 14, 2017) - Horsemen and women, don't forget that Tuesday, February 28 is the nomination deadline for seven Texas-bred stakes races that will be run on the last week of the Sam Houston Race Park Thoroughbred meet (March 10-14). Below is a list of the those stakes and the date each will be contested:

Friday, March 10

Bara Lass Stakes, three-year-old fillies, six furlongs
San Jacinto Stakes - Four and up, fillies and mares, 1 1/16 miles (turf)

Saturday, March 11

Yellow Rose Stakes, four and up, fillies and mares, six furlongs
Richard King Stakes, four and up, 1 1/8 miles (turf)

Monday, March 13

Groovy Stakes, three year olds, six furlongs
Spirit of Texas, four and up, six furlongs

Tuesday, March 14

Star of Texas Stakes, four and up, one mile
