(January 15, 2003)- Sam Houston Race Park will add Sundays to the live Thoroughbred racing schedule beginning Sunday, February 2, 2003. The first race will begin at 4:00 p.m. (CST), a departure from the previous post time of 5:00 p.m.

"We considered many factors in making this change," said Robert L. Bork, president and general manager of Sam Houston Race Park. "Many of our local fans have expressed interest in afternoon racing and we have a solid group of simulcast players here on Sundays that will hopefully stay to play our live races. We feel that the earlier post will coincide nicely with the conclusion of the race card from New York and Florida and that some of their fans will watch and wager on our races."

The 2002/2003 Sam Houston Race Park Thoroughbred meeting continues through Sunday, March 30, 2003. Live racing is set for each Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Sunday racing will begin at 4:00 p.m. and conclude by 8:00 p.m.
