October 20: Morning Workouts Open to Public Starting Thursday

(October 20, 2004)- Morning workouts at Lone Star Park will be open to the public, free of charge, for nine days leading up to the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships on Oct. 30. "Daybreak at Lone Star," an unusual opportunity to see the world's top Thoroughbreds up close, will run 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. every morning starting Thursday and continuing through Friday, Oct. 29.

Fans will be permitted to view workouts at ground level on the East Trackside Apron, accessible by entering Lone Star Park through the East Gate Entrance near the valet parking area. Parking will also be free.

Lone Star Park will enhance the morning workout experience with commentary by track announcer Michael Wrona and interviews with special guests. In addition, breakfast will be available for purchase at Feedsack 1 beginning at 7 a.m.

Almost every horse participating in the eight Breeders' Cup races will appear on the Lone Star Park track prior to raceday, either for a timed workout over the surface or for less-strenuous jogs and gallops to maintain fitness.

Lone Star Park's inaugural Fall Breeders' Cup Meeting for Thoroughbreds continues Thursdays to Sundays through Oct. 31.
